"You see me, but do you know me? I am what diversity looks like today. Half white, half Latino, 1/16th Black. Looking at the world through the unique lens of a Colombian-born, naturalized citizen that looks completely white; that’s my superpower. Because I can keep a secret. I can choose where and when to reveal myself. Born in Colombia to a short Hispanic woman and stiff-upper-lip British father; with a great-grandmother who was half-black. I was raised in South America, the Caribbean, and Asia. Moving countries six times before settling down in New Canaan, Connecticut (the whitest town in America in 1980.)

I’m an expert. I'm white. I'm Hispanic. I’m black. I am diversity.”
