Andrew had a deal with CBS to develop, produce and star in his own sitcom pilot. The pilot was shot at the Sony Studios in Los Angeles and was based on his comedy. Usually when a comic gets a network deal it falls apart when the comic tries to act. In this case Andrew showed right out of the gate that he's a natural. Instead of sticking out like a sore thumb, he rose to the level of the all-star cast around him. Everybody from the guy sweeping the set, to both writers (Andy Gordon & Eileen Conn) to the director (Gary Halverson) to the guy in the editing room putting together the promo clip for the CBS Up-Fronts that year... Everybody thought it was going to Go. The story is unique and with the growing ethnic mixture that is transforming the nation, never more timely. Reality television seems to be the neverending fad, but a family show that can combine Middle America with the ever growing Hispanic population is a ratings coup de grace.

The all-star cast included:
-Rita Moreno as mother (Luisa)
-Christa Miller (Drew Carey, Scrubs)as wife (Amy)
-Julia Duffy (Bob Newhart) as Mother in-law (Cathy) -John Ratzenberger (Cheers) as father in-law
-Henry Goodman (West End) as father (Malcolm)
-Anne Guilbert (Dick Van Dyke Show) as Amy's grandmother, Nan
